Adoption Circle October 2025 Newsletter

November is here and has brought us much colder temperatures, rain and wind! We all enjoyed Halloween, the holiday trifecta is 1/3 of the way survived! The Buckeyes are undefeated, and I see a bowl game in our future. Life is good 😊

October Recap

October brought a couple new expectant parents to Adoption Circle, exploring adoption plans for their soon to be born child.  We had 7 expectant birth moms contact us to ask questions about the adoption process.  Two of our placed families finalized their adoption placements.  We continue to move forward and look forward to assisting our clients in building their families.

Adoption Circle, in conjunction with Hope Love Dream, Inc. and POEM, received a substantial grant from DCY to offer support to families parenting children 0-12 months.  This grant will assist in providing baby items including safe sleep cribs and car seats as well as parenting education.  The goal of the grant is to decrease infant mortality in Ohio. We have reached out to many different agencies throughout the state and have planned to attend community baby showers, family resource fairs and will collaborate and teach parenting classes. While our hearts will always be supporting women in exploring adoption plans, it is very fulfilling in assisting women who have chosen to parent their child in offering their child the safest environment.  Do you know of an agency or community event that might benefit from Adoption Circle attending?  Please reach out to the office and share your ideas with us!

HALLOWEEN

Halloween has come and gone in the whirlwind that October was.! We hope everyone was able to celebrate and indulge in some tootsie rolls and snickers. Hopefully next year will be warmer and less rainy.

Down Syndrome Awareness

October also brought Down Syndrome Awareness and the Buddy Walk.  Our very own Ramona “Romy” was at the Buddy Walk and her family and friends raised over $2k.  Excellent for her first fundraising event. Have you talked to your child about accepting people that look different from themselves? Some tips for doing so include focusing on simple, positive and inclusive language. Emphasize that everyone is different from one another yet share similar dreams and hopes for the future.

November marks the real start of the holiday season.  Between gratitude, giving back and big shopping days – time will continue to fly, and the year will end with a BANG! For many of us, Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday.  There are no costumes, no magic to create, a menu that is tried and true; just a gathering of our favorite family and friends, spending time together and reflecting on all that we are grateful for. I know we are grateful for our health, our family, our children and their birth families. At Adoption Circle we are grateful for you, we don’t take for granted the trust you have in us and feel privileged that you have chosen us to walk alongside you on your adoption journey.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF BIRTH PARENT SERVICES

November is Adoption Awareness Month. Adoption Circle will deliver outreach materials about our services to hospital social workers, crisis pregnancy centers and other potential referral sources. We are always networking with other professionals who guide women that are contemplating adoption plans. We have long standing, positive relationships with many referral sources throughout the state of Ohio.

How will you celebrate Adoption Awareness month in your home? With your child? With your family? Talking to your child about their birth family and the adoption plan that was created for them out of love and concern for their best interest is very important. If your child isn’t talking about being adopted, YOU should be!!! Adoption ideally should be a safe topic to discuss in your home. Your child should know that you are a safe person to talk about their adoption and that you will not be affected emotionally if your child asks you questions about their adoption.

Do you follow us on social media? If not, now is the time to do so! I’ve started a new series, Car Chats. Each chat is a brief video that discusses a topic about adoption.  Please feel free to email me Kim@adoptioncircle.org with any suggestions for future chats.

DECEMBER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER and with December comes the annual Adoption Circle toy drive!!! Please consider making a donation, either monetary or toys and small comfort items for birth parents. This past year has been a hard one for so many. We prioritize helping those that will not have a Christmas at all, if not for the loving support of those of you that contribute to this worthy cause. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.  You can contribute directly on our website at the donate button, or by going to this link to donate

Hoping everyone enjoys the month of November, and we look forward to detailing November events in the next newsletter.  Please follow us on our social media platforms. FaceBook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube
